Cost of prom: While

be cheap. Between the dress, the ticket to cover the venue,
the dinner, make-up, accessories and transportation, prom
night can be quite expensive and it is something you might
have to save for. Having said that, you will always remember
your prom night so go for it! Approximate budgeting costs
for prom night:
The dress: $60 - $400 A prom
dress is not cheap, especially if you are looking for something
of a certain quality. Whilst the dress may be fairly costly,
by choosing a dress that you will be able to wear again you
will at least making a good investment.
Shoes: $60 - $150 If you do
not have the right shoes for your dress, maybe you can save
the expense of buying a new pair by borrowing them from a
friend or parent who might have the same size feet as you?
If not, remember again to try and pick shoes that you will
be able to wear again. Make sure that the shoes are comfortable
enough for you to wear all night!
Transport: $20 Many people
now chose to go to prom night by sharing a limousine, as it
is all part of the fun of the evening!
Hair and Makeup: $50 Choose
a hairstyle that will make your features stand out for prom
night. Get tips and ideas from magazines and websites, so
that you don't have to go to the hairdresser's more than once!
Also bear in mind whether you will be wearing specific jewelry
or a headdress before deciding on what style to chose.
Accessories: $20-$100 See if
you can borrow some appropriate jewelry that will go with
your prom dress from your mum. Decide which pieces of jewelry
you will be wearing for prom night (necklace, earrings..)
Tickets: $20 - $200 You will
know how much the tickets for your prom night costs a few
weeks or even months before the event. The cost of the ticket

dinner and sometimes drinks. Make sure that you know what
is included so that you can allow for extra expenses on prom
night.
Photos: $10 - $50 The cheapest
way to remember your prom-night is by slipping a small camera
in your handbag or purse and taking your own snaps. A professional
photographer will also be present at the evening, and it may
be well worth purchasing a few professional photographs of
the event or of you in your dress. After all, you have gone
to all that trouble to look great, it would be a shame not
to have quality photographs to remember it by!
Purchasing the dress:
Before going out shopping for a dress, it is a good idea to
look through magazines and reviews to get an idea of styles,
fashion, and what you like. Once you know what kind of dress
you are looking for, shopping will be much easier and you
will not have to try on so many dresses! Also ask your friends
what they think looks good on you - e.g. sleeveless or patterned
styles. Browsing the internet for prom dresses is also a great
way to shop as it will save you hours and you will be able
to see hundreds of different prom dress styles without moving
from your home! If buying your dress from the internet, make
sure you are familiar with the internet stores' policies and
delivery delay. Remember to allow plenty of time for the dress
to arrive and for you to try it on.
